Uno dei maggiori inconvenienti nel preparare una rete dati è certamente l’assenza del cablaggio richiesto. La tecnologia HomePlug permette di utilizzare la rete elettrica come mezzo di trasmissione per l’invio dai dati. La capillarità degli impianti elettrici consente la costruzione di una rete dati praticamente ovunque senza la necessità di stendere cavi o perforare pareti. La tecnologia HomePlug crea una sorta di circuito punto-punto (devono essere utilizzati almeno 2 dispositivi) capace di raggiungere una velocità di link di 85 Mbps. Il supporto della Quality of Service (QOS) ne permette l’utilizzo anche con applicazioni particolari quali VoIP, TV su IP ed Online Gaming. Usando questa tecnologia due o più computer hanno un collegamento Ethernet virtuale senza il bisogno di essere connessi fisicamente l’uno all’altro.

Facile da Installare
I passi per la costruzione di una rete sono semplicissimi e non richiedono l’installazione di driver.
